About

Andrew and I bought a one-bedroom house in the Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara neighborhood in my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. It had been repossessed by the bank and was being sold as is. It needed a good deal of work to be habitable, so we packed up our CR-V and three pets and drove out there for a month spanning June and July of 2013. The first part of this blog tracks that progress, but “the youngest snowbirds” is as much about building a way of life that allows us to live affordably in two different regions of the country, investing fully in both as good community members. So there will be more to tell along the way. Milestones I look forward to include our first Christmas tree on Milwaukee Street, and our first visit from Tucson Friends. Andrew looks forward to optimizing our transportation as we have many nearly 4,000 mile round-trip loops to look forward to. He is looking into everything from conversion vans (a la Uncle Rico) to camper tops for our CR-V.
